kura Terms of Use

1. Introduction
kura (the "Software") is a serverless password manager. By using the Software, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
2. No Warranty
The Software is provided "AS IS", without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Software will operate uninterrupted or error-free.
3. Security Disclaimer
The Software uses client-side encryption, but cryptographic technology has inherent limitations.
- You are responsible for managing your master password.
- We are not liable for any security breach resulting from the use of a weak master password.
- We are not liable for the future discovery of vulnerabilities in the encryption algorithms used.
- You are responsible for the security of your device (malware, unauthorized access, etc.).
4. Data Loss Disclaimer
We are not liable for any loss of data in the following cases.
- Loss of both the master password and the recovery key.
- Failure, outage, or data loss of the cloud storage service.
- Data corruption or loss caused by defects in the Software.
- Data loss caused by device failure, loss, or theft.
Important: Store your recovery key in a safe place. If you lose both the master password and the recovery key, there is no way to recover the stored data.
5. Storage Service Disclaimer
The Software uses AWS S3-compatible cloud storage services. These are services provided by third parties, and we assume no responsibility whatsoever for their availability, reliability, or security. The terms of use of each service provider apply to your use of their storage service. Any costs associated with the use of the storage service (network transfer, storage fees, etc.) are your responsibility.
6. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, punitive, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with the use of or inability to use the Software. This includes, but is not limited to, loss of profits, loss of data, and loss of goodwill.
7. Open Source License
The Software is open-source software provided under the Apache License 2.0. The source code is publicly available on GitHub. The terms of the Apache License 2.0 also apply to your use of the Software.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. When significant changes are made, we will notify users through software updates or via the repository. Continued use of the Software after such changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
